This is for the podcasts already in your rotation. You listen as usual; every now and then, the episode gives you a quick bit of language practice and keeps moving.

What changes in the episode

Almost nothing. About once every ten sentences, the feed takes a clear English sentence and gives it a short detour into the language you are learning.

What you hear

  1. The original English sentence.
  2. The same idea in your chosen learning language.
  3. The original English sentence once more.
  4. The podcast continues exactly where it left off.

It stays out of your way

You do not need to stop the episode, pull out flashcards, or set aside study time. Put it on during a walk, a commute, or while cooking, the same way you would any other podcast.

Why hear it twice?

You get the meaning from the English sentence first. Then you hear the same thought in the language you are learning. Hearing the English again puts you right back in the conversation, instead of leaving you to work out what happened.

Pick something you would listen to anyway

That is the whole idea. If you already like a show about comedy, business, science, sports, or culture, you will keep coming back to it. The language practice comes along for the ride.

Give it a try

Find a podcast, choose French, Spanish, German, or Italian, and open the feed in your podcast app. Your podcast stays the main thing you are listening to.
